Sharice Styles’ Red’s Boutique is a Small Fashion Boutique in RVA Where You Can Get a Big Bang For Your Buck & Learn How to Be a Retail Maven on Your Own

“Standing 6 feet tall, and the picture of grace, style and finesse, Sharice has the looks of a fashion model and the voice of an angel. Her music is about passion and empowerment, mixing the traditional sounds of soul with contemporary flavors. Her goal: to reach audiences, touch their hearts and make a difference in their lives — just as her talent and faith lead her to make a difference both on and off the stage.”

- GaptoothDiva Radio Interview Featured Artist of the Week Sharice Styles 1/25/2011

On January 25th, 2011 GaptoothDiva Radio interviewed the beautiful singer/songwriter about her career in music and her plans to evolve her sound and audience while maintaining her passion for the Church and philanthropy, while interviewing Ms. Styles she also promoted her new fashion accessories boutique, Red’s Boutique located right her in Richmond, Virginia.

The GaptoothDiva Team decided to stop by this weekend to check out some of her merchandise and find out what the R&B sensation is up to in this point in her career.

Red’s Boutique is currently located at 3302 Williamsburg Rd., Richmond Virginia 23231. You can call (804) 212 4995 or email RedsBoutique@gmail.com for more information.

Sharice is in the process of building her clientele and shopping around for boutique space at the moment, which is why she is located in The Big Flea Market location off of Williamsburg, however she is also the example of just how entrepreneurship can be easily attained if you think smart, instead of big. Her influence in the community and her tactical marketing skills, allows her the opportunity to save money on overhead by renting out space at the Williamsburg Flea Market while also proving that opening your own retail location is just too easy not to.

In Red’s Boutique, you’ll find unique and interesting pieces for all occasions for the fashionable and trendy. Most of the pieces are from New York and many of them designed by fashion stylist that Sharice has worked with in her music career, who she felt had designs influential enough to be sold in her new boutique. We were amazed at the affordable prices of the merchandise considering many of the jewelry and handbags looked custom and one of a kind. When I mention affordable, I’m not speaking in terms of you can probably leave with 1 or 2 key items, I’m stating that I’m ready to walk in, get my shop on, and leave with several bags full of items without even breaking the bank. That’s right folks, affordable!

I loved the unique clutches and the huge handbags with unique designs. I also loved the affordable and often hard to find chunky necklaces that are currently hot right now. I looked at the prices tag and wanted to scream, because while some of us give up on searching for that perfect bib-styled necklace, I will search high and low for one that is not only inexpensive but extra fancy. Well, I probably won’t have to look any farther thanks to Red’s Boutique.

If you are the type who loves sunglasses and extra cute belts, I assure you won’t be disappointed in her selection., Although the day before, Sharice made an abundance of sales, she still had plenty of desirable merchandise available for us to look through, which to me is an indication that all of her accessories are hot and not just a few scattered here and there.

The goal is to not only find key pieces that stylish women would love and appreciate, but to also motivate some of them to also seek their own niche in this world, by possibly entering into the world of start-up retail entrepreneurship. Sharice sets a great example at how easy the entire process can be, if you are willing to put in a little hard work and become a little more open-minded. Although we would all love a huge retail location in a shopping mall or on a busy street corner, with the prices of building space and the uncertainty of any individual endeavor, less risk is involved when starting out the way that Sharice has done. Coming from New York, this has to be one of the smartest moves ever, and with little over-head cost, she can focus more on purchasing more products rather than keeping the heat on and the security system in check. So with that said, she is willing to give back by providing more information to anyone interested in starting their own retail shop within the Williamsburg Road Super Flea Market, in the hopes to inspire other individuals and motivate her community leaders to get into entrepreneurship that is virtually recession proof.

“I have a very strong relationship with God in my day-to-day life, and it’s always structured around what I feel my spirit is being led to do,” she says. “I have never left the church, and to this day I still work in the church. I do a food pantry with my team every other Saturday, and if I’m out of town I make sure that someone will be there to bag the food. Otherwise, I’ll be out of town thinking about the people who need their food. Doing this keeps me grounded. Everyone should understand that they could fall one day and need a rescue place.” – Sharice Styles

Red’s Boutique is very much a treasure where most would think there would be none, but I for one, see abundance and success when it comes to this shop. It’s classy, stylish, and very inexpensive, and I can’t wait to see what exclusive and fashion-forward jewelry and accessories she will have available next.

So who is this talented, striking newcomer who can lay down the beats for the dance floor, then turn around and break your heart with a ballad, & sell you a fantastic pair of shades and a hot handbag?

“I describe myself using that old bridal saying: ‘Something old, something new, something borrowed and something blue,” she says. “I do some old-school, but I’m still new. I borrow from my experience and make it my own. I can sing some blues. And I bring anything that’s needed. It’s a fresh start of a new sound.” – Sharice Styles
