Fighting back tears, I finally just said, “I’m going to do it!”
I love thrifting, I love vintage, and I love DIY and collecting unique items. I love it so much that the Hubs had to ask me to scale back on the haul videos, because he didn’t want me to look like a hoarder with a shopping disorder, his exact words. Lol. Despite having a passion for something, I’m not going to front and pretend I wasn’t scared just a little. Now, don’t trip, because my faith is strong. Nevertheless, like anything you love and appreciate, you want to see it succeed.
Therefore, I’ve created DashA’veri, named after my two boys (and my motivations) which is a Vintage and Thrift Shop online, for the bold, creative, quirky, and fierce. I understand that I’m putting it out there and that you’ll either love it or you won’t, I just hope that the creative side in you, finds something that you want. If you don’t… we do customize and bring YOUR old items back to life as well. So regardless, you can utilize DashA’veri for all your thrifting, vintage, and creative styling needs. It doesn’t just stop with clothing, we are venturing in accessories, and home décor as well. So you can understand why I’m running around like a chicken with my head cut off. So while I’m still blogging, writing, doing interviews, reviews and more, I will now have an online vintage and thrift shop for you to shop for creative and quirky pieces.
I love this, though. I can’t deny that this rush of venturing into online retail is making me feel some kind of good. It’s something about being fearless and presenting your secret love to the world to see, to judge, to critique, and/or admire that makes me feel stronger. Whether I want it or not I know some people will hate, but I’m not talking to them. I’m talking to the people who supported me, that understand that I’m trying to promote the way WE think. That everything beautiful is NOT trendy, name brand, or perfect. That fashion is a lifestyle of creativity and individuality, to be beautiful to those that can receive and understand your purpose, not the majority. DashA’veri will represent that. My online store is for those that like wearing something different. The people who enjoy feeling creatively inspired and love color, prints, funky embellishments, etc. My store is for the girl who saw that weird sweater and wanted it, just because. Moreover, the great thing is I keep it cost-effective as well, because we all are trying to make something amazing with little to no way of doing it. By making broke look chic, we throw caution to the wind and dress how we want.
Check out the video from my very first model call/shoot with photographer Amor Jay. It was awesome!
I can’t wait to debut the store to you all and I look forward to sharing new creations and items with you here, on Instagram, Twitter, Facebook, Youtube and everywhere else. I want you to know that your style isn’t constructed out of a bunch of rules and regulations; it’s as limitless as your creativity. DashA’veri is here to support that.

What started as a simple idea on a rainy day, RAINRAPS™ became the newest creation of New York transplant, Stacy Struminger. Currently residing in Richmond, Virginia Stacy saw a need for a more stylish, lightweight, waterproof accessory in the often wet and humid Richmond climate.
After a frustrating and long rainstorm back in 2011, Stacy realized she had difficulty finding something waterproof to wear outdoors. She shared her idea for a stylish weather resistant wrap with her friend, Rachel Teyssier. The two both decided to turn their great idea into an even greater venture to sell fashionable waterproof outerwear, called RAINRAPS.
As a self-employed/stay-at-home mother, it’s important for me to dress appropriately for the weather. If I get sick, this completely fabulous operation crumbles, so a diva must keep warm and still remain stylish. I think the concept of the RAINRAPS would be beneficial to all women, whether you’re traveling to and from your 9 to 5, school and the gym, or if you’re just picking the children up from practice. I love the various colors available, and how these ambitious ladies displayed great examples of how to wear this original design for those interested in its appeal. The website indicates that you can wear it all year round, making it practical for the consumer. It is also light, durable, fast drying and easy to store away, especially handy for those of us trying to juggle diaper bags, strollers and handbags during the day.
Quick Facts About the RAINRAP ™:Water-Repellent/Water-Resistant Outerwear Accessory
Travel friendly (folds up to fit in a handbag and/or suitcase)
Fashionable/Stylish
One Size Fits All
Reversible
100% Polyester
Measurement from the neck to the bottom of the back hem is 25.5 inches
GaptoothDiva: What or who inspired you to create the RAINRAP? Did you come across any obstacles while doing so?
Stacy and Rachel: The hot, humid, rainy weather inspired us to create the RAINRAP. We were tired of having wet clothes in air-conditioned buildings. We had many obstacles in the process of creating the RAINRAP, but none that we couldn’t overcome. The first was finding out that no one in the United States manufactured the waterproof fabric that we fell in love with.
GaptoothDiva: Does it come with some type of bag or carry case? (In the event that it’s wet when I take it off, how do I put it away without wetting the contents of my purse)?
Stacy and Rachel: Our new, hooded RAINRAP comes with a convenient travel pouch that fits just about anywhere. It fits in your purse, briefcase, glove compartment… you name it!
GaptoothDiva: I see it comes in a variety of colors; will I be able to get a customized RAINRAP?
Stacy and Rachel: One day that will be a wonderful, fun addition to our site, but for now you will have to trust us to pick the most fashionable, practical colors for your wardrobe.
GaptoothDiva: What is the overall response from the public regarding the RAINRAP?
Stacy and Rachel: People are thrilled at how soft and rich the fabric feels and how lightweight and compact they are. We are finding that our happy customers want to share their find with their friends and family and we just love sending gifts from our customers to our new customers. Spread the love! We have the best customers and we are so thankful for that!
GaptoothDiva: What can we expect from the two of you in the future?
Stacy and Rachel: Oh, we cannot reveal what we have stirring in the pot, but we just received our samples and we are so excited! Like us on Facebook and be the first to see!
GaptoothDiva: Will do and great job on a fantastic design and stylish colors. I wish you nothing but success in the future.
Check out the great designs and get a RAINRAP of your own. Don’t go another wet rainy day without a fabulous RAINRAP.

I got that fire shorty, yeah I got that fire!! Naw, I don’t even know why I said that. I have brand new videos and tracks for you today. Is it me or does this dude sound like….”Weeeeezzzzyyyy Babbyyy!!” Lmao. I’m serious. I kept looking at the video and the information attached, thinking someone was sharing a new Lil’ Wayne song. Alas, it is not the YMCMB man, but some dude name Lil’ Chuckee featuring another dude by the name of Kevin Gates. I see you! This song actually sounds like it was on the radio the other day. I’m impressed. It takes a lot to impress with a strip joint soundtrack, but I felt a little twerk come on after the first verse that I will just credit to my epilepsy. Keep the party going!
I know they’re different. Nevertheless, for some guys from Minnesota, I think they have real ambition. I listened to the lyrics several times and to be honest the guy lost me a few moments in, it was something said about Buzz Lightyear from Toy story. LOL. The video was cool; I liked the photography. Other than that, I’m just sharing
There is no doubt that he is talented. I believe this video was much better than the one I reviewed a few months back. He is so motivating. I was hype, like seriously. The video concept was nice; watching him grind in his hometown to this track was awesome. This is probably the favorite of the week.

I just had to start with something totally out of the box. I have a new interest in house and electronica. I think it’s because the mix with hip-hop sometimes is so amazing. Well, I decided to share an artist from Sweden who has been sharing his music with me for quite a while. He is extremely talented and ambitious. Now they aren’t many lyrics to the song, but I’m sure that some of you can deal with that. The beat is fantastic and going against the visual of a ballerina, it really is imaginative.
You ever listened to the beginning of a song and just weren’t connecting with it. Like the beat, the lyrics, the video just didn’t get you at first. Then you immediately hear the chorus and start to jump on board. It’s like everything after the chorus made sense finally. Well, ok maybe not. However, that is what just happened to me. I
wasn’t rocking with it at first; it just didn’t catch me. Nevertheless, the
chorus plays, it’s catchy and I’m like… it’s cool. The tie on the t-shirt was very distracting. I love individuality, so if that is a symbol or trademark thing, go right ahead. I just think less is more, and the t-shirt was hot enough alone. Trayce looks like a fun dude to hang out with, spitting harder as the song goes on. I give it thumbs up
For the Ladies that like R&B dudes, here is a very sensual track from an attractive man. Now, what can I say that won’t have ME sleeping on the couch? LOL. Jey Gibbs shows off his body, which shows that he works out and eats healthy. He is lying on a bed that looks comfortable for games like “horizontal twister”. He also sings about wanting to put his hands on a woman, but not in a Chad Johnson kind of way. …. Too early? Anyway, the man made a panty dropper and sings it well. He provides a visual of what we would expect if we succumbed to his request and did a great job. Now there… I love my husband… I love my husband… I love my husband.
In an upbeat and bubbly tone, Vassy sings about positive love and admiration. I took the video to mean the person she was in love with was so perfect they were like a doll. Obviously, she must have been perfect to him as well, because she too resembled a doll at some points. It’s a fun pop video that I could imagine being played during one of my favorite prime time sitcoms. Vassy looks amazing in the video, and her outfits were too cute. Please, tell me where you got that black and white stripe dress!! I enjoyed it a lot. I can really get a sense of her talent from this. Make sure you check out her other tracks, which are all equally amazing.

Yes, I’m back with new music videos that no one is watching. Just kidding, but seriously. I’m sharing new videos from up and coming artist (Good & Bad) for your viewing entertainment. I’m not going to lie, “Twerk” songs are excellent soundtracks for our community of exotic dancers. Let say you don’t like exotic dancers, or you just don’t want people to know you do. “Twerk” music is also great for working out, cleaning up the house, or just (regular) dancing where no one can grind on you. I use this type of music for the latter examples, obviously because I’m not an exotic dancer (professional or free nightclub version). I actually really like this track. I wish there was a video that exemplified my idea of what this song would make you do. I imagine the video concept showcasing the true talents of pole dancers, making average girls jealous. It should commemorate the human body but not be too raunchy. I played this song during my run this weekend, just to see if it blended with my other motivating tracks on my playlist and it fit right in. Very high energy, which if you’re going to talk about me “twerking” anything, it better be. I can definitely hear this being played in the club, strip and otherwise. #Squadheavy
I didn’t check of Jackson City Pt. 1, and now I’m mad! This promo video for Jackson City 2 is so cool. I was trying to see the people’s faces through the special effects, but overall I’m so pleased at how this went down. The girl had me in the beginning singing Michael Jackson, it sounded so good. However, when he started mixing it and the guys started dancing, I was intrigued. I liked this a lot. I can’t wait to see more from them in the future.
OMFG!!!! This video was hot. The whole time I’m watching it, I’m wondering how is it going to end. Never did I expect that. I won’t spoil it for you if you haven’t seen it, but … damn! Anyway, excellent lyrics by @BravoofVA and great shooting by @804Tmac as well. Very talented dudes for sure. This video exuded the drama and reality that we crave from music videos nowadays. The video tells the story along with the song. A beautiful girl gets caught up and makes a mistake, but a mistake that she won’t EVER forget. I’m gone. This was amazing work, which no doubt showed they worked hard on this. I’m very impressed. I like the song and the visual, so I recommend you get up with these dudes soon.
You can tell when somebody doesn’t “Give A F*ck” when they talk about how much of a killer they are in a white wicker chair. I’m just kidding… or am I? Seriously, this song is not wack, I just didn’t start to feel hype until the second dude started rapping. The first one might have been too high, because I felt lethargic listening to him rhyme. Like I said it wasn’t wack, I just didn’t believe him. The second dude flow had more energy, I thought his verse was more believable considering they all sat in this white wicker chair at some point. I’m going to need for these dudes to get off this game and get some girls in their videos. That is the second video where “Bad B*tches” were mentioned, but none were visible. Just a bunch of dudes in the house, smoking, drinking, and playing video games. I like when the “get money” dudes actually make their fans understand how they… wait for it…GET MONEY. I just can’t…

You want that dose of rap, video shots of alcohol bottles random dudes smoking blunts, then this video is for you. On my quest looking for new videos, I stumbled across these up and coming artist. What can I say? It’s a song about “hitting a chick with your awesomeness”, but hardly a chick in sight. It would have been nice if they included a leading lady that he could spit these fire verses in style, but that is not the way they work, I guess. Watch them as they hit people with their “swag” on what most likely could be a school trip to Washington D.C.
What I like most about this Case Closed character, is that he proudly announces that he does everything himself. I love that! It’s his fault if you don’t like him, he owns that responsibility. Now moving on… He obviously has some talent in lyrics (from what I can hear), however the beat over saturated most of his punchlines in my opinion. I liked the different shots of RVA, i.e. Manchester Bridge, Southside, etc. Since I took the time out to watch this video I will say, the man needs a stylist. He flashed logos of clothing that was far too irrelevant to share with his audience. I was also completely turned off at the site of his basketball jersey. Stop distracting us with what you have on, and say what needs to be said. I see so much potential…
Case Closed, Hip Hop Artist from Richmond, VA..Unsigned, aspiring musician…makes his own videos, records his own music, HIMSELF. check him out.
Brooklyn we go hard! Or did he? I enjoyed the idea that this artist is coming from a different direction than the blunt smoking, bottle popping, and fat ass diluted music video concept. Because of that fact alone, I decided to share this. I wasn’t feeling many of the verses, because I could imagine better words being placed in there somewhere, but that’s just me. You might love it! Shoutout to the background and their amazing enthusiasm.

Finally, a video I received via Twitter (we all know how much we love that) from #TeamJaGutta at @TeamJaGutta: @GaptoothDiva Like and Comment @IamJaGutta‘s – “Ms. Perfect” video and enjoy!!!!! #StateofEmergency
When it comes to club songs, the ones that make girls get in the “I’m about to drop a dookie on the floor” position and pop their booties, this is a success. I could imagine this on the radio. Most importantly, they’re talking about girls…. and you see girls! There is a greater percentage of decent looking females in the video as well. Although, I’m not the type to grind upon these dudes, I could see myself being dragged to a party of this caliber, based on the video. It doesn’t exceed my ratchet limit at all. More power to them for getting a bunch of girls to bend over and dry hump on their Johnson, more power to them. Thanks for sending me a decent music video with great potential. It was not a waste of time, and I got new music to secretly shake my ass at home where it belongs.

As always I appreciate getting music videos from Independent artist looking to share the work and get feedback. Since I’ve been away on hiatus, I received quite a few submissions, some overlooked, but most of them from some very creative and ambitious artist.
One particular person by the name of Jaesen K reached out to me, letting me know that he really wanted to get his name out there and was looking to put out a mixtape soon. Say whatever the hell you want, but I REALLY hope they do!!
I was seriously feeling this. They have gotten quite a few views on their video via YouTube, most by some haters who need to shut up and put out something worth talking about. However, they obviously got something. The people were bugging and seriously mad for whatever reason. They are different and that’s what I like about ‘em. No one can be described as “Wack” to me, who has the balls to wear colorful harem pants, rap his heart out, and make me forget the obvious reason why people are mad, when I close my eyes (wink). Nice!
I bet if a mixtape did come out and they went super hard, they could be exactly where they want to be. If not, its great art that I can honestly say I appreciate. Keep it up!
Check it out for yourself…

This young up and coming artist breezes through metaphors and ryhmes like…. it’s cake. Rapping about her plan to conquer the game and show the world that she is one of the best, yes we have all heard it before. However, her ambition is something to be motivated by and her baby dollface, makes me want to just pinch her cheeks. She is adorable! Grinding as hard or even harder than some of her male counterparts, she displays a talent and hunger for the hip-hop game that is inspiring and graceful. Although, I could care less about money making lyrics from Indie rappers on the school/work grind, her flow is contagious and her self-esteem is relateable. The opinions on her youtube video were lacking constructive criticism, she is a star in the making. However, let’s see her get really mad and spit a sixteen with some venom, that will truly tell us what some of you may secretly know. Do I smell a beast inside?
I love anything that reminds me of my young days in Queens, chilling on staircases, wearing afro-centric attire, wanting to grow up and be just like Queen Latifah. LOL This video was pure spoken word and incense for me. Lyrics… on point. This video told a story that I bet most of us forgot. Can you believe that this was Norfolk!!?? I love it. I’ve been on a search for artist that remind me of the days when rap and hip-hop meant somthing to me. Where the words spoke of a life I was living, and not one that seemed like only 1% of us would see. Realistic and simplistic, thought provoking and stimulating… I’m running out of words to describe how much I love this song. I will definitely play and rewind this track. Great video also, so cinematic and 90′s looking, I love this!
This is not a music video, however every song needs a chance to be heard. Check out this music link from an independent artist/group…

First of all let me just say, without a d*ck riding bone in my body, that whatever Garnett Boldin touches…. is fire! That dude has a voice that should have been on mainstream radio, on my television set, and in my damn ears a long time ago. He is as good and as soulful as a free meal at Croaker’s Spot, and that’s freakin delicious. Everytime I hear him perform or see him, I’m thrown into an R&B tailspin. I don’t even rock with R&B dudes like that, but people…. this one is different.
The Big League did their thing as well, bringing in refreshingly good bars to a song that I can see being catchy and playing all day in my house. I like it a lot. I especially enjoy that this song is not representative to a lifestyle that isn’t realistic for most of us. It’s real and I understand the grind. I’m telling you…. it’s good. Man, these guys are good! LOL. I know I sound shocked, and it’s because I really am (and that’s not a bad thing at all). They are talented.

Something giving much do respect to the ladies. I know I’m a Super Woman in Stilettos, for sure.
Ni**az ain’t making money like they say they do, Nor are they really gangsta (gangster), lol. I like this.
Does anybody else get a strong Slim Shady feel from this dude? I’m serious. He could really do something. It’s gritty and homemade but the creativity is there.
It’s a freaking Fluke how I found this dude. But I glad I did. I like homie, skills and all. Wish he would’ve been angry on this joint, though. That’s how I really feel the lyrical skill level. Kinda getting a Taylor Gang vibe, too.
